The place derived its name Thiruvelliyangudi hence and the presiding deity is also known to as Velliyan.

Thirucherai - Sri Saranatha Perumal Temple

temple tank of tirucherai to keep the tools necessary and all vedas and all necessary aids for Srishti creation

Thiru Naagai (Nagapattinam) - Sri Soundararajan Neelamega Perumal Temple

Located in Nagapattinam and the temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandha, 

Adisesha did not have any children. He 

worshipped the Perumal here and was blessed with a daughter. 

Hence the name Nagai or Nagapattanam.

Other names are Talaichanga Nanmadium,Talaichangum .The Changu held by the Perumal is very beautiful 

here. Due to this, it is believed that the name Talaisangam.The Perumal holds a priceless sangu in His hand and hence 

the place is called Talaisangam.

Thiru Sirupuliyur - Sri Arulmaakadal Perumal Temple

This temple also called as  Sthalasayana Perumal Temple adored in Nalayira Divya Prabandham by Thirumangai alvar and 

this is one of the only two Divya Desams where the image of Vishnu is represented in Sayana Kolam [sleeping posture] facing the South direction,

other being Srirangam Ranganathaswamy temple. 

The Moolavar of this sthalam is Sri Arulmaakadal. 

He is also called with other names like Arulmaakadalamudhu, Salasayana Perumal.

The Thayaar found in this temple is Thirumaamagal Naachiyar. And the Utsavar Thaayar is Dhaya Naayagi.
